Below are the main differences between Employee Central Payroll and On-Premise Payroll. 

  • EC Payroll is hosted by SAP, while the business or a third-party provider hosts a customer-owned HCM solution. 
  • SAP performs support package management according to recent releases for SuccessFactors in EC Payroll, while the BASIS team performs patch management of the on-premise solution.
  • EC Payroll has the new SuccessFactors release kit, while the on-premise framework is the service package policy established by the organization. 
  • There is no access to the operating system in EC Payroll, while in the On-Premise HCM system you have access to the OS level. 

A middleware known as Dell Boomi uses the integration between On-premise ERP HCM and EC Payroll for master info. 

HCI HANA Cloud Integration is now being supported to replicate the HCM framework with the master data. Employee Central and HCM are both SAP solutions, making it easier to easily integrate them. When buying an SAP SuccessFactors Enterprise Kit, there is an opportunity for consumers to choose SAP HCI or Dell Boomi. On the Home tab, from a drop-down column, press Payroll.
