Agentic AI with n8n and MCP

Overview

Agentic AI with n8n and MCP focuses on connecting AI agents to real systems with low code. You will work through lead intake, email triage,…

What you will learn

  • Describe agentic architectures and select workflow, autonomous, or human-in-the-loop patterns (Module 1).
  • Build, debug, and run n8n workflows with webhooks, schedules, and APIs (Module 2).
  • Use AI nodes for classification, summarization, and structured outputs (Module 3).
  • Build a tool-using agent with memory in n8n (Module 4).

Prerequisites

  • Required: Basic understanding of APIs and JSON. Access to an n8n instance and an LLM API key [confirm whether provided]. Some scripting exposure helps for the MCP server modules.
  • Helpful: Prior use of any workflow tool such as Zapier, Power Automate, or Make. If you have never used an AI assistant, start with Enterprise AI Literacy.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to code?

Mostly no. n8n modules are low-code. Modules 6 and 7 involve writing a small MCP server, with starter code provided; basic scripting exposure is enough.

What is MCP?

The Model Context Protocol is an open standard for connecting AI agents to tools and data sources. You learn to use existing servers and build your own.

Do I need an n8n subscription?

[Confirm]. Labs run on n8n cloud or a self-hosted instance; the course covers both.

How is this different from RAG, LangChain & LangGraph?

That course is Python code-first. This course is workflow-first in n8n and focuses on connecting agents to business systems through MCP.

Can agents be connected to my company systems during the course?

Labs use sandbox and synthetic systems. Connecting production systems is covered as governance guidance, not performed in class.

Does this cover Zapier or Power Automate?

No. Concepts transfer, but all labs run in n8n.

What do I keep?

Exportable n8n workflows, two MCP servers, an approval and monitoring design, and a runbook.

Is a corporate version available?

Yes, with agents built on your approved systems and policies.
