Second, licensing changed. SAP Learning notes that Joule for Developers was a promotional SKU until September 2026, and SAP has published guidance on the end of the promotional period . Check your current terms with SAP before you plan a rollout.
10 ABAP Tasks SAP Joule Helps You Finish Faster
Here are ten everyday ABAP tasks where SAP documents Joule support, with a sample prompt for each. Prompts are illustrations; exact menus depend on your release.
1. Understand legacy code with Explain
Select a method, class, or block of code, then choose Joule, then Explain from the context menu. SAP Learning shows the answer in Joule chat, with the objects it used, and lets you ask follow-up questions.
Try: "Explain what this method does, which tables it reads, and where it changes data."
This is where Farah starts with her 2,000-line report. A plain summary per method saves hours of reading before she changes anything.
2. Write routine code with predictive code completion
Predictive code completion shows grey ghost text as you type in classes, interfaces, and programs. You accept it or keep typing. SAP Learning notes you can switch automatic triggering on or off from the toolbar.
