A Glimpse of SAP BODS

bodsSAP BODS is a product which delivers a basic single product for data management, data processing and data integration. Data integration is the process of extracting, transforming and loading between targets and sources.  These targets and sources are SAP HANA, SAP BW and other relational databases. Data Management helps to get accurate quality of data. Text data processing helps in extraction of data from large amounts of data. We have designer tool which helps the developers to design objects that have logic, transformation and data mapping method with the help of user interface.

There is a repository and this space in a database server which helps in storing metadata for the objects. The repository has been updated and registered with central management console.  This can help to create multiple jobs. We are using three different types of repositories for SAP BODS:

Local Repository: It helps to store the information about the objects that is developed for SAP BODS.

Central Repository: It is used for multiple users and managing the various versions that are available. There are various objects that is preserved from the previous sessions.

Profiler repository: It stores the metadata for the various profiling various tasks and activities.

Job Server helps to retrieve information from the available repository and it helps in processing the job with the help of engine. The data can be easily moved and there is multi- threading, query optimization and memory functions. There is a parallel processing of data which improves scalability. Access server is a real time entity that helps in collecting message requests and routes them appropriately based on the user specified time. Similarly we have management console which helps in web based application. This helps in creating data quality reports.
